AKC BIS UKC CH. Kryslaur's Just Jack JC TDI CGC

************************************************************************
2008 Afghan Hound Club of America Stud Dog Winner
What an honor it was to be on the end of Jack's lead when the judge pointed to me and said
Best Stud Dog!
Let me begin by saying that "Jack" has touched more lives than I could ever have expected. Because of him, I have met many people who have become my very dearest friends. As his breeder, I am as happy with the life and job he is doing now as I was when he was winning in the show ring.
Many of you know "Jack" as the winner of the 2004 Breeders Cup. Those who know him well are aware of what a special dog he is. "Jack" was not just a show dog but has worn many hats in his career. "Jack" is a double certified therapy dog. He is certified through Therapy Dog International and has his Delta Society certification, which I am most proud of. He has been a fantastic 4-H dog for my daughter, and proving to be an awesome producer.
As an AKC winner
Jack started his show career in December, 2003 and finished exactly one year later at the same shows. He finished his championship with 4 majors (all Best of Winners) and a Best of Breed over specials. "Jack" won under many distunguished breeder judges such as Edith Hanson, Lee Gindlesberger, Gill Ullom and Shelley Hennesy (who finished him). Besides winning the Breeders Cup under Bob Brown, his other distinguished wins were BOS in Sweeps at the Midwest Specialty under Les Linsdrop and also RWD at the same show under Lee Gindlsberger. "Jack" was WD and BOW at the Memphis Specialty under Edith Hanson and received a 3rd place from the 12-18 month class at the National under Gill Ullom. "Jack" has several BOB wins from the Specials class, and a group placement.
As a UKC winner
Jack was always a group placer in the UKC ring. He finished his championship going Best in Show. What a pleasure it was to see the judge, with tears in her eyes, hand my daughter, Krystyn, the ribbon, saying " Today you are my Best in Show ". She later told Krystyn that she could not take her eyes off of him, how confident he was, that he took her breath away and he just had a presence about him that said "Look At Me"!
As a 4-H dog,
He has taken several Best in Shows at the county fair with my daughter, Lauryn, and other placings at the State Fair level. Lauryn has also worked with him in agility. "Jack" has been a shining example of our breed to all of the people who have had the opportunity to come in contact with him.
As a producer
Jack's first litter is on the ground and doing well. He has puppies with Best in Sweeps, BOS in Sweeps, 2 Best Puppies, a Puppy Group One, along with a Major reserve and several with regular reserves. These babies are just starting out and have only been shown a handful of times. They are surely following in their daddy's paw prints! He is very proud of them!
As a therapy dog
Now (temporarily) retired from the show ring (he's a little chubby) he spends his days spreading love and smiles throughout two hospitals, Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna Ohio and Akron Children's Hospital.
Parents are visibly relieved when they see their children's faces light up when Jack walks in the room. They know that, for one moment in time, their child is not thinking about the pain they are in, or the illness that they cannot control. The kids know that "Jack" wants to spend time with them, unconditionally. It does not matter what illnesses they have, if hair is lost from Chemo, have IV's are coming from their arms, or that they may look a little differently from the child next to them. He approaches them all in the same way, with a wagging tail and a loving heart!
Words cannot discribe how proud I am to be able to share this special dog with the kids who need him the most, and the feeling of joy that overcomes me when I see the smiling faces of the kids that come running when they see him and then to watch him interact with the kids. It takes a special kind of dog, and that he is! How lucky I was that God gave him to me!
Although he is not currently being shown in the conformation ring , "Jack" is still very active. He is doing what I believe he was put on this earth to do; making the world a little bit easier for the young ones who are having a hard time doing that by themselves. Children who are in pain, or have been abused, or the kids that are so shy, will only talk to him. Sometimes it just takes the help of one 4 legged companion named "JUST JACK".
"Jack" is not just another pretty face. "Jack" is a dog with a purpose!
